Relics draws inspiration from the wild, mysterious ruins and hidden treasures scattered across historical sites in Spain. I have family in Spain and have grown up traveling there frequently, exploring all four corners of the country. The piece portrays what appears to be part of a larger collection of forbidden artifacts and antiques, inviting curiosity and wonder. As a collector of curios myself, I aimed to immerse viewers in the thrill of discovery, capturing the moment of encountering a rare and enigmatic piece. Shadows and textures evoke both history and imagination, blurring the line between reality and the fantastical world of the collector. The illustration celebrates the allure of the unknown and the stories that objects can hold.
